How does the laser work?
Our Diomax™ laser works in a similar manner to the laser found in your doctors office, although the power settings are lower. Light energy at a wavelength safe and effective for hair removal targets the hair follicle, and preferentially destroys it. This reduces the growth and regeneration of new hair, leading to a permanent reduction in hair growth.
How often will I need treatments?
Treatment can be done 1-2 times a week.
What should I expect after using my laser?
Results should be evident after regular use for 4 weeks. Your hair follicles grow in cycles, therefore, this time is required for the initial control of hair growth. With subsequent treatments, there should be greater improvement as more new follicles are targeted that move into the growth phase. Remember that the Diomax™ laser is not designed with the same power as your doctor’s device, and is not a substitute for professional treatments.
Caution is still required with Diomax™, as the device is still powerful enough to cause adverse reactions when used inappropriately. Please follow your doctors advice and recommendations.
How do I reduce the chances of an adverse reaction?
The best way is to carefully follow your doctors advice. This will include using skin cooling setting recommended by your doctor, and by careful selection of the appropriate level of energy for your skin color.
Is it safe for black and dark skin?
Yes. Our the Diomax™ laser has been extensively tested on dark skin. Use as directed, with the lowest possible recommended setting for your skin color.
Where can I use this laser?
It can be used on the following areas:
Face – chin, cheeks, temples, upper lip. Arms, legs, hands, under-arms, peri-navel, bikini area.
DO NOT USE CLOSE TO THE EYE AREA. AVOID EYEBROWS AND BODY ORIFICES.
How can I maximize my treatment results?
Discuss with your physician prescription creams and medications that can be used concurrently with your Diomax™ laser to achieve even better results and hair clearance.
What ages can use it?
Ages 16 years and older can use the Diomax™ laser.
Does it hurt?
Heat energy is generated by this laser, and it can burn. ALWAYS use an ice pack with the laser, and use at the lowest recommended setting for your skin color. This will minimize the chances of discomfort.
Can I use this laser with my doctor’s laser treatments?
Yes you can. In fact, the Diomax™ laser was developed by a doctor to help you maintain your clinic’s laser treatments at home. This also results in fewer expensive clinical visits to your doctor.
